Terms of Service & Safety Disclaimer

⚠CRITICAL HIGHWAY SAFETY NOTICE (FMVSS NO. 110)

The calculators, specifications, and formulas published on TowCalcify are mathematical estimation tools designed for trip planning and educational comparison. They do not substitute for, supersede, or override the certified Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR), Gross Axle Weight Ratings (GAWR), Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR), or Tire and Loading Information placard (FMVSS No. 110) permanently affixed to your specific vehicle driver-side door jamb. Every vehicle operator is legally and operationally responsible for verifying actual axle weights at a certified commercial scale before driving on public highways.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing, browsing, or using the calculators and content on TowCalcify.tech, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use this portal.

2. Educational & Estimation Nature of Calculation Tools

All towing capacity ratings, payload deductions, tongue weight figures, and safety gauge calculations provided by TowCalcify represent estimates based on factory baseline specifications published by original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) J2807 standards.

Actual vehicle towing capacity is dynamic and varies based on:

  • Optional factory equipment (such as four-wheel drive transfer cases, panoramic sunroofs, skid plates, or heavy wheels).
  • Aftermarket accessories (such as bed caps, winches, heavy bumpers, toolboxes, and running boards).
  • Weight and placement of individual passengers and cargo inside the cabin and truck bed.
  • Specific hitch hardware, ball mount drop/rise, and weight distribution spring-bar tension.
  • Tire condition, load range ratings, and cold inflation pressures.
  • Elevation, ambient temperature, and road grade steepness.

3. Mandatory Vehicle Operator Responsibilities

As a licensed vehicle driver and trailer operator, you agree that you are solely responsible for:

  • Door Placard Inspection: Inspecting the yellow-and-white Tire and Loading Information placard located in your vehicle door opening for your vehicle's specific payload capacity.
  • Certified Scale Verification: Weighing your combined vehicle and loaded trailer at a certified public CAT scale or highway weigh station to confirm neither axle exceeds Gross Axle Weight Ratings (GAWR).
  • Tongue Weight Ratio: Ensuring trailer tongue weight remains strictly between 10% and 15% of total gross trailer weight for bumper-pull travel trailers (or 15% to 25% for fifth-wheel and gooseneck trailers) to prevent dangerous high-speed trailer sway.
  • Braking & Safety Equipment: Equipping your combination with certified safety chains crossed in an X configuration, a functioning emergency breakaway battery switch, and an operational electronic trailer brake controller where required by federal or state law.

4. Limitation of Liability & Warranty Disclaimer

TowCalcify, its authors, engineers, and contributors provide all content and calculators on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular towing purpose, or non-infringement.

Under no circumstances shall TowCalcify be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:

  • Mechanical breakdown, transmission failure, engine overheating, or frame damage.
  • Highway accidents, collisions, trailer sway incidents, or personal injury.
  • Traffic citations, overload fines, commercial vehicle regulatory penalties, or vehicle impoundment.
  • Manufacturer warranty denial or insurance claim disputes resulting from trailering operations.
